ABOUT RTEX
-
With growing social & environmental challenges worldwide, industries
including Healthcare, Automation, Manufacturing, and Security /
Safety see the importance of further development in the field of
Robotic Technology (RT). A crucial stage in facilitating RT and
gaining support is to bring experts from around the world to one
meeting point.
As the only exhibition of its kind in the MENA region (Middle East &
North Africa), RTEX is designed to be a meeting point for solution
providers and solution seekers.
RTEX provides an exhibition platform for the latest advancement in
robotics and automation technology to be showcased, an extensive
seminar program for speakers to present their projects, and workshop
stands for the interested public to learn hands on about the
technology.
At the inaugural event which took place from 28th to 30th September
2014, RTEX succeeded in bringing together local and international
exhibitors, trade visitors, students, government representatives and
members of the local and international media.
A solid foundation for the industry in the region and a base for all
subsequent RTEX events was created.
The focus of the 2015 RTEX will be on Automation & Industrial
Robotics, Logistics, Unmanned and remotely controlled systems,
Consumer Robotics, Research and Development and Robotics in
Healthcare and Education.
DUBAI - ASPIRATIONS & FACTS
- DUBAI SMART CITY
Dubai’s ambition to become a Smart City directly correlates to its
aspirations of becoming a hub for technology in the region.
The Dubai Smart City initiative is one of the most key in the GCC. The
Government of Dubai, under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed
bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and
Ruler of Dubai, has made several initiatives to transform the emirate into a
smart city.
With the future of Dubai tied to being smart services and the automation of
every aspect of daily life, we need to properly define the concept of a
smart city. For some people, a smart city means energy management or saving,
while others think it’s about traffic control. And for arguably the
majority, it is viewed as purely the automation of stuff. In essence though,
the definition of a smart city concept is vague to say the least as it is a
concept that is constantly evolving as technology advancement continues and
picks up pace.
Dubai’s hosting of World Expo 2020; is being tipped to be a smart event,
with every project related to it being done in that direction.
EXPO 2020
Dubai is a city where Fantasy became reality. In the span of just 20 years,
Dubai has become a jaw-dropping oasis of Innovation, Business and Technology
and has become a city where the Impossible becomes Possible. Dubai became
the first city in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia to ever host the
event.
The World Exposition is a fair of immense proportion, where every five years
millions of visitors from all over the world converge to share ideas, revel
in technology and allow people to explore the world outside their everyday
experience. This was the foundation for Dubai’s successful bid “Connecting
Minds, Creating the Future” which highlights the fact that while a single
human mind, an individual country, or a specific community is both unique
and remarkable, it is by working together that we truly advance as a Global
society.
Robotics is generating significant buzz among the Technorati, leading
Entrepreneurs and Governments. Across the globe, companies are constantly
innovating and patenting designs to create the world’s first fully
autonomous machine with capabilities that will forever transform the way we
do business and how we manufacture goods. It is therefore essential that
Dubai, the most technologically forward city in the MENA region uses the
opportunities that Robot Technology Exhibition (RTEX) presents, to remain
competitive and a front runner.
Analysts predict that the early adoption of such technology in the UAE would
significantly increase the GDP of the country and create a more
knowledge-based economy thus propelling Dubai as the premier destination for
leading companies worldwide. RTEX would therefore compliment Dubai’s 2020
Expo and add significant value in the subsequent years leading up to it.
